PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Mr. Bauers grew up on a dairy farm in southern Minnesota, beginning his career in academic hydraulics research, surface and groundwater modeling. His diverse background of nearly 30 years in water resources engineering includes environmental engineering, groundwater remediation, water quality and source water protection. In 2000, Mr. Bauers relocated to the Denver Metro area, and in 2003 left consulting to begin working in Municipal Water supply, planning, treatment, and distribution.
With over 15 years in Municipal Utility Management, Mr. Bauers is well versed in the nuances of agricultural water rights transfers via a change of use to a municipal-demand system. His depth of knowledge in water quality, augmentation and storage brings unique expertise in valuing an agricultural water right for the municipal sector. Mr. Bauers has served on numerous mutual ditch company Boards of Directors and continues working closely with the agricultural community. A farm kid himself, his unique combination of experience can provide excellent insight for buyers and sellers alike, as they contemplate a water rights transaction.
